MENINGITIS VACCINATION Following advice from Coventry Primary Care Trust and the UK Department of Health the eligible students at this health centre are those:- |
|||
who are registered with either GP practice at the Health Centre AND |
|||
|
who have NOT had the Meningitis C vaccine before starting University
OR |
|||
|
Full-time "mature" students in their first year, living
in halls or at private addresses and who have not been vaccinated
OR |
|||
|
Full-time First Year students from overseas who have not had the Meningitis
C vaccine before OR |
|||
|
Overseas students who are commencing for the first time a postgraduate
course of study at this University and whose previous studies were
not in the UK - most of these will be resident on campus |

| NOTE
FOR OVERSEAS STUDENTS - You have been requested to get vaccinated
before arrival in the UK. However, if you are eligible and have not
had the MenC vaccination, please contact us. |

|
Students cannot have the Meningitis C vaccination if they have had
the Meningitis A+C vaccine in the last 3 years |
|||
| (You may have had these vaccinations either in the last 2 years at school or when you started University) | |||
| IF you meet these criteria the you should be vaccinated against one of the causes of meningitis (called the meningococcal C infection) with the MenC vaccine | |||
| If you are registered with the University Health Centre then please book an appointment to see the practice nurse with your practice. | |||
