There are two GP practices providing the general medical services and there are between 10,500 and 12,000 patients registered with the two GP practices. There are both male and female doctors with each practice.

Dr Cowan and partners (the PINK practice)

Dr Parker and partners (the BLUE practice)

It is important when phoning the health centre that you know which practice you are registered with - in order to help you to remember Dr Cowan & partners is also known as the "PINK" practice and Dr Parker and partners as the "BLUE" practice and, when registering, you will have been given a sheet of general information printed on the appropriate colour paper for your practice.

Both practices have their main surgery elsewhere in the city with about the same number of patients registered there. The home visiting and out-of-hours services are organised through these other surgeries. (See out-of-hours services)

CONFIDENTIALITY: Any personal / medical information given to doctors, nurses or other staff at the health centre will not be divulged anybody else without the specific authorisation of the patient.
