| COMMENTS AND COMPLAINTS | |
| We welcome comments about our GP medical service. We need to know what we do well, where we could improve and where there may have been problems so we can continually improve the quality of our services. If you, as our patient, have a suggestion for improvement we will respond to you promptly, and where necessary, put right what was wrong. It is important to make your complaint as soon after the event you wish to complain about has happened and wherever possible speak to someone straight after the event. Contact the Practice Manager or one of the doctors and we will acknowledge your complaint promptly, investigate it and then sort out the problem as quickly as possible. We will meet you or send you a full written reply within two weeks. Full details of the complaints procedure is available from the Practice Manager. | |
| CONFIDENTIALITY | |
| Preserving the confidentiality of patient information is vitally important. Both practices are registered under the Data Protection Act. Modern medical practice usually involves teams of doctors, other healthcare workers, such as nurses, health visitors, district nurses and sometimes people from outside the healthcare professions such as clinical researchers, pharmacists and auditors. These professional people who look after you may share information about you, as this will help them provide you with the best care available. As adults, information about you will not be released to the University, your parents or any other unauthorised persons without your consent. You have the right to see your own records (both hand written and from the computer) and applications for access should be in writing. There may be a charge. All clinical audits that are performed are completely anonymous. Patient identification is not disclosed without the written consent of the patient. Queries about confidentiality issues should be directed to the Practice Manager. | |
The addresses of the 2 GP practices which provide doctors to the Health Centre are as follows, but all patients registered with the University Health Centre have their appointments on the University site.
