DR DURR AND PARTNERS (The BLUE Practice)

There are five full time and two part time partners in this practice:

It is important when phoning the health centre that you know which practice you are registered with - in order to help remember Dr Durr and partners is also known as the "BLUE" practice and, when registering, you will have been given a sheet of general information printed on blue paper.

There are approximately 12,000 patients registered with this practice divided between the two surgeries.

The notes for patients registered at the University are held at the University Health Centre and would not be available if a patient is seen at Broomfield Park Medical Centre Surgery.

DOCTORS SURGERIES at the University Health Centre:

Term Time There are surgeries are held morning and afternoon at the Health Centre from Monday to Friday;

Vacation Time - There is one surgery each day, Monday to Friday The times of surgeries vary from day to day and week to week.

For details of exact times and names of doctors in attendance contact reception (Ext 24888).

If you need to see a doctor, telephone (Ext 24888) or call at the Health Centre during opening hours to arrange an appointment. Every effort will be made to arrange early appointments.

All urgent cases will be seen the same day. Every effort is made to keep waiting time to a minimum; however, emergencies do occur and a rigid time system cannot always be adhered to.

URGENT APPOINTMENTS: If it is urgent to see a doctor that day then every effort is made to fit you in. If the surgeries have finished at the University, and you cannot wait until the following morning, then it may be possible to arrange an appointment at Broomfield Park Medical Centre Surgery.

HOME VISITS: If it is impossible to visit the Health Centre as you are too ill, contact the Health Centre for a home visit. Please contact us before 10.30 am if at all possible. If the illness arises when the University Health Centre is closed then see Out-of-hours

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS: Repeat prescriptions may be obtained by giving 48 hours notice. Bring to the Health Centre the right hand side of your previous prescription marked to show which medication you require.

CONTRACEPTIVE ADVICE: Doctors and nurses are fully trained in all aspects of family planning including prescribing the "morning after" pill.
